An Unwritten Love

Well scripted are the chapters of my life,
but they ended the day we met.
Like a spontaneous combustion my heart went up in flame,
I guess that’s death by flamed concussion.
Now I am like a damsel trapped in a castle,
while the dragon circles.
Only thing that’s present in the dungeon,
are skeletal remains.
I yearn for you to save me,
I am left filled with sorrow and regret.
Pages of our novel lies blank,
like that of an unwritten fantasy.
No feathered ink to write with,
the narrator is missing.
Narratives are all gone,
like sunset to dawn.
And our story ended before it begun.

GARVEY

“Garvey!”
They shouting “Garvey,”
The man with the lessons
That he got as a blessing.

He led us triumphantly to liberation,
In a time of racial segregation,
where we were treated unfairly
based on our complexion.

To the oppressors of his race,
he was a unbearable thorn
From dusk till dawn.
They tried to frame,
Put him to shame
all their actions went in vain.

“Garvey!”
They shouting “Garvey,”
The man with the lessons
That he got as a blessing.

The man made his mark,
that inspired many hearts
From the likes of Mandela,
Nkrumah and Rosa Parks.

Self reliance is the message,
going forward is the plan.
From the man,
big in virtue
short in stature.

“Garvey!”
They shouting “Garvey,”
The man with the lessons
That he got as a blessing.

we are living on lands,
that are not our own,
He said’
back to mother Africa,
to claim our thrones,

One God!
One Aim!
One Destiny!
Words from the man,
To the black nation,

We must
“Up ye Mighty Race…….”
For we are strong,

“Marcus Mosiah Garvey”,
Black mans greatest champion.
